Just upgraded from 3.something, muchos improved, keep up the good work (and thanks, you've made my life much easier).

Few random comments:

I'm not a fan of the Tooltip for username format on the login box. It's a little unusual to use tooltips in this way, and it's an unusual username format. I'd prefer to see the required format on the dialog itself (like it used to be?).

From a UI perspective it would/could be better to have the same options that appear on the context menu appear in top level menus, as in a traditional windows app:

File
Edit
Search...
View
Tools
Help

A variation on the above is to add Channel + Posting menus, but I admit I haven't thought this through very far (this might work well when a posting is selected).

File
Edit
Channel
Properties
Posting
Properties
Tools
Help

Search:

My favourite feature. But very hard to find (I lost it for days once. I may be stoopid, though). Please add it to a menu.

To my eye it would be nicer to include the Channel as a field on the Search dialog rather than in the title.

If you were keen you could add some toolbar buttons, too.

BTW: I tried the client webservice connection, didn't work, not sure whether I entered the correct information in the login box or not. (Ah! Check the tooltip. Now I undersand... This leads to the same comment as above: consider adding the required format to the text of the dialog box, not the tooltip).

Hope this is useful in some way (and it's only my opinion, feel free to do as you see fit!).

Hi Steveg,

Thanks for using MCMS Manager and your feedback. Search of cause, I've disabled it which you need to enable through Tools->Options->Enable... as it was eating memory if you have more than 10000 postings or so and using not a high end client. I'll think about your comments before starting the next version development.

Again thanks for your feedback!

Cheers,
Chester.

hi Chester, regarding "as it was eating memory if you have more than 10000 postings or so" is it eating client memory or server memory?

Hi David,

I was speaking about the client memory. As it requires all the posting objects (MCMS Manager posting object - scaled downed version of MCMS posting object) to be there for the search, it will take considerable amount of memory (depending on the posting size) if it is enabled in very big sites.

Cheers,
Chester.
